In this post I am going to explain you how to power ON the VMware Integrated OpenStack vApp if it is Powered Off.
After deploying the VMware Integrated Openstack ova file, there would be a vApp that gets created with two VMs that is management-server and the Openstack-template.
From the above screenshot, the management-server Virtual Machine is the OpenStack Management Server (OMS) where the user logs in and performs all the OpenStack Administrative tasks, where as the openstack-template virtual machine is a template where the openstack deployment uses to deploy the additional nodes.
So to power On the VMs, login to the vSphere web client and locate the vSphere Cluster where the VMware Integrated OpenStack vApp is deployed.
Right Click on the VMware Integrated OpenStack vApp, click on Power and then Click on Power –> Power ON
NOTE: DO NOT POWER ON THE INDIVIDUAL VIRTUAL MACHINE, YOU NEED TO POWER ON THE vAPP.
That is it… One you click on Power ON it takes about 2-3 minutes to get the IP address and then the OpenStack Management Server is ready.
